I'm thinking about buying an SX3 20 gauge in Bottomland camo to hunt with and was wondering what choke/load combo those of you who shoot them settled on? And what kind of 40 yard patterns did that combination print?? Thanks.

I have, Greg. I even posted this same thread over there. I have the 12 gauge SX3 and love it. I just haven't any personal reviews posted on the 20 gauge model, especially for turkey hunting.

I have a 12 gauge SX3 and love it. I use it for everything bird wise. Recoil is very managable and it has so far digested everything I have run through it from 2 3/4 light target loads up to 3 1/2 inch BBs for geese and everything in between. I shoot 3 1/2 inch #5 Winchester Supremes and XXs for turkey and it manages the recoil very well. I use a Primos Tightwad for turkey and a Patternmaster Anaconda long range for ducks. Any particular reason for wanting a 20 over a 12?

I hunted with a Remington 870 Compact some this past turkey season and killed 2 turkeys with it using the Federal Heavyweight #7/Sumtoy 562.3 choke combination and was very satisfied with the results. I just want a 20 gauge SX3 to dove and turkey hunt with and I love Mossy Oak Bottomland.

the SX3 20 was my 2nd choice when I went with the Franchi (getting a M2 20 now) my only dislike was the weight. If I'm going to a 20 i just want it to be as light as possible.

having said that it is a very very nice gun.
