722 birds have been killed this week through Wed afternoon at 3:30pm, and I don't recall but maybe a couple of posts.

It just shows what a very, very small segment of the overall turkey hunters in the state that this forum represents.

I have still been going and will go this weekend before leaving to hunt MN. I have been taking my 5 year old son though lately. We have been on some birds but he can't sit to still yet. I don't want him to learn in a blind or with decoys so we've just been going and hunting the way I like to hunt. Don't care if I get a 4th TN bird or not.

Yep, worst gobbling year I've ever had. I've worked 3 total all season and all are dead. Most mornings are silent, maybe a roost gobble or two and then silence. I usually kill around 10-12 birds a year but Georgia sucked, Bama was worse, Kentucky closed us out, and tn has been down right horrendous.

Strange year, but honestly I was due for a really a$$ season. I'd love to say at least it was nice to be out but the weather and lack of being in the game has sucked the joy out of it for me this year.

Killed out early, heading to ohio in the morning. I've been hunting with several others on public land, lots of gobbling everywhere i've been. We hunt however they want to, not just how i think is right.

Killed one Monday morning that was part of a hard gobbling trio I'd messed with once before. And I got to see a 12 year old kill one Saturday morning. I'll probably find someone to take Saturday. If I didn't have so many family and work obligations right now I'd just start driving northwest. I'm usually ready for it to end by the time the end gets here, but not so much this year.

I've not gave up yet. Slowed down a lot mainly because of work and honey do's but, still trying some.

Just because some have filled enough tags over the years and have moved past just killing doesn't make it wrong. If anything those hunters have had enough success to be particular in how they play the game and just killing at all costs means nothing

Put up all my gear May 1. That was my last day. Birds were still gobbling and opportunities were still there. Just decided to hang it up for the year. Had a great year and am looking forward to next year

Can't seem to get out of bed ever since going 4 days in a row and nothing heard. Had a great season so far. Have one tag left and tagged a bonus bird so I'm sitting at 4, and all those but one came in the first two wks. Also missed one and called in three more for people. Kinda got the itch scratched for awhile. Time to work dogs now for duck season...

For the 2nd year in a row I got my Native TN License and thought I'd go without using it to turkey hunt for the second year in a row. Last year had a newborn so I knew it wouldn't be likely but wanted to go ahead & get the application part done.
This year we obviously had a 1 year old which is easier but then the CoronaVirus blew up so that put a damper on plans.
Hunted up in KY and got my 2 birds here on & around the farm. Finally decided to make a break for it & headed down to TN twice last week. Left out about 8:00 each morning and went to two separate tracts on the same WMA.
First time stepping foot on either property. Spent about 4 hours hunting each day.
Think I found some scratching in one spot but never cut a track or any other sign & never heard a bird.
Had a blast. I knew it would be tough that late in the season and went into it like more of an armed scouting trip for future reference.
All was good until the end of the 2nd trip. I was coming off a pretty good sized ridge. I chose a route that looked pretty mild on the topo but next thing I know I am on some steep stuff and trying to work down rock outcroppings.
Went OK until a rock slid from underneath me and one knee stayed in place while the rest of me slid down hill.
Don't think I did any major damage but it's been sore all week. So, I had hoped to head back down a day or two this week but I'll probably just call it good.
I took a buddy hunting on the farm last Saturday (5/9) morning. Real cold and I didn't know what to expect but they gobbled great. Got a Tom to 60ish yards but couldn't quite get him to get any closer. Had hens out in the field and they eventually drug him off. I was surprised how vocal they were.
I've got buddies in OH & IN so there's a small chance I might try to head north but probably not likely.

Yep. Took a buddy out today. While working one bird gobbling sporadically at daylight but coming in, had 2 others make a silent approach from another direction. The first hung up but the 2 showed themselves 10 minutes later and now there is 1. My buddy took his first bird today, a 20 pound double bearded Jake. This was his 6 th hunt with me and first to actually have gobblers come in. Not much action the last three weeks.
