Anyone train and/or fight in MMA ?

i dont but have a good friend who does. he fought last night and lost by rear naked choke. he lost to the same guy his first ever fight and rematched him again last night and lost again. my buddy is 6,4 and is better on his stand up game and the other guy was only like 5,8 but has good ground and pound.
i'd like to train just to get in shape but just to lazy

I train, but don't fight. I train at a place in Chattanooga. 5 of our fighters are fighting this saturday, 21st, at Camp Jordan in East Ridge, in an XFN (Extreme Fight Night) event. XFN puts on a well organized show with some very good fighters.

I enjoy training, but do it as a hobby. To me, there is too much risk in actually competing, as injuries both minor and major are unavoidable. I do value the training for exercise and self defense purposes.

ditto!

I did for about 7 or 8 months and got burned out due to I wasn't able to stay as consistent as is necessary to avoid getting my arse handed to me while training :D. I still go to the same gym and work-out with some of our fighters. Our school is in with Dickson MMA (i think that's the name) and one or two more schools up around the boro. We're having another sanctioned fight in November here in Franklin County in November. I'll be there in a fluorescent green or yellow "staff" shirt while my wife is at ringside at a VIP table like the last time. :D

my son is training to thai fight right and is taking Gracie Jui jitsu as well. At 17 he is a little 140 bad A$$. He sould kick my butt right now and not think twice about doing it. His ultimate goal is to cage fight, MMA style. his first few fights will be thia fights though. He is training at Chillcutt's Premiere Martial Art's in Memphis. Yes that was a shameless plug! Haha.

I trained for about a year. I called it quits after 2 staph infections. Last was MRSA and it took me 20 days worth of anitbiotics. And to be honest, I haven't felt 100% since MRSA. Feels like I don't have the energy I once had. Now I stick to doing some weight training and watching. Most of the places around Knoxville only want your money and disregard your safety!
