Apex ammo

There were a small handful of TSS pioneers who developed and created 95% of the handload recipes for TSS. These people also imported and sold the shot at a decent mark up, but with that you got access to their load data, which is worth a lot. My understanding is that the APEX guys reached an agreement with a couple of these TSS gurus. Apex buys their shot through them, they allow APEX to use some of their loads. So to answer your question, unless they have changed things considerably from last year, I think the APEX shells basically are the handloads that others are shooting.

How pricey are those .410 shells?
I've got a .410 I got for my 10th birthday 24 years ago and I wouldn't mind to kill a turkey or 2 with it.

As an option (available soon, already on Cabela's website):

The new Federal .410 TSS turkey loads . . . .
1 3/16 ounce of #9 TSS
Box of 5 listed for $25.99

If you get those with free shipping (may or may not)
works out to $5.20 per shell.

Whether Apex, Federal, or hand-loaded
very amazing that one can achieve standard 2 3/4" 12 ga traditional lead performance from a .410,
or something that is superior to 20 ga lead turkey shells.

$5.83/shell including tax and free shipping if you can find a code

Ah, I forgot about the "new" sales tax Cabela's recently started charging! :o
When Cabela's was taken over by Bass Pro,
because Bass Pro has retail stores in TN,
they supposedly "had" to begin charging TN residents sales tax.

Would presume Apex doesn't have to charge for sales tax?
