I always thought for some reason the AR had a bad rep about ruinin brass,,anyways,,here is some I have loaded 5 times with 55 gr bullet and H322 powder,,they have stretched a little but still in my tolerance level,-.010 + .00,,,all the cleaning they have had is wiping the case lube off with a rag between loadings,,

Don't recall hearing that an AR was hard on brass beforembut I ain't into them. Any way looks like that one is BUSTED. LOL

I haven't had any particular problems with my AR brass either, except maybe trying to find them in the field. At my shooting bench they land in a fairly small area and are not dented nor scratched too badly. I keep them trimmed to proper length and use a light crimp.

MB what is your most accurate coyote load to date in your R15? I just use my standard dog load of a 50g TNT over 748 because the terminal performance of that bullet is so devastating on coyotes and other varmints. And it shoots around an inch or so in my .223s at 100 yds. Plateau Hunter

I am shooting the 55 gr Sierra flat based spitzer and 23 grs H322,

I am yet to find a 55 gr bullet with any of the normal 223 powders that wont shoot an inch ,,from the R15

The 7.62X51mm is hard on brass...my M1A's FN-Fals and '91 can attest to that! I think that is where the bad rep for military brass stems. I have fired several dozen hundred of USGI LC ammo and loaded it hot and reloaded it hot at least six times before scrapping it...the .308 stuff only gets wrung through 3 times before scrapping.
