I have been looking for some top quality clothing for bow hunting this December and January. I came across Arctic Shield clothing and it is very warm but not bulky. It has what they call Retain technology which retains 97% of body heat. I got the H6 Series which has arm pit zippers to allow some air to circulate into the jacket if it gets too warm. I unzipped the zippers and warm air came flowing out so the Retain technology clearly works. The stuff is so warm that I DO NOT wear it walking in or out of the woods. Bibs and jacket in the H6 series run about $290 but it is well worth the $$$. I bought Under Armour Cold Gear last season and froze to death many mornings.

I have had some artic shield gear and it was actually to warm for me, at least for hunting around hear, I was drenched in sweat everytime, under armour works good for me. Just depends on the person

I figured out a system. I dress light going in and bring the jacket up with my bow when I'm up in the tree. I don't put the jacket on until I start to feel cold. Worked last time.

With thag being said I still wear the Under Armour when the temps are in the 40s. I bought the Arctic Shield for bowhunting when the highs are in the 30s.

I do the same, usually dress as light as possible walking in then once cooled down start layering again.

That A/S stuff is the bomb for cold weather. The problem is indeed finding weather cold enough to wear it in. I also have the bibs and jacket. I tested out the waterproof part of it last week and was really impressed. I went relic hunting back in early January with it on. When we started out it was 10 degrees with a windchill in the negatives in the teens. By the time I had walked just 100 yards I was about ready to come out of that jacket.

I got it last year for bow hunting too and really like it.I wanted all real tree and had to settle for mossy oak bibs and realtree jacket, which some say is better to do anyway.

ive worn artic shield for years now and have convinced my buddies how good it is. i wear ua base layers and a/s outers,, and roast sometimes,,and the foot covers on all day hunts are the best things ever,,just dont forget to take them off before you start climbing

I've got my Arctic Shield H4 series jacket and bibs for sale.

$175 for the set. Worn maybe 5 times. Mossy Oak Breakup pattern.

Jacket is size 2XL and bibs are XL.

I use a heavy Fleece jacket over a lightweight fleece with insulated bibs . Tie the heavy jacket around my waist while walking to my stand to avoid sweating , and put it on at my stand . It works good to 0-10 degrees . Tn. doesn't get nearly as cold as it does around here . We get colder temperatures , plus the wind that cuts right through you .

I've been able now to test this clothing out in this frigid arctic air and I was able to sit on stand for 4 hours. All I needed was a base layer and the Arctic Shield and that was it! The Arctic Shield jacket is not too bulky and allows me to draw my bow without any problems.

Nope I just sold them to a fella on Archery Talk up in Iowa.

They are actually too warm of a jacket for anything BUT in the teens. I hunted Tuesday morning here...it was 16 degrees when I got up. I had on a thin base layer shirt that I got at WalMart and a thin long sleeved shirt and the bibs. I actually hunted over 2 1/2 hours without the jacket on...and the only reason I put it on was because the snow got heavy and was getting my shirt wet.
