Last week I went to their shop that is 19 miles from my house. I have been wanting to get a .675 Indian Creek choke for my 835 to try out. Well Mike Ponder was there and I talked with him awhile when he wasn't busy on the phone. I bought a couple of t-shirts and Mike was kind enough to give me a free hat. So I told him lunch was on me. I had a great time. Both Mike and Stuart are great guys. And they are super turkey hunters. I think Mike told me Stuart killed 8 birds last year alone. LOL!

But this is what I got.

They make a good product. I got .665 for my 870.

That is what I use in mine with the MagBlends.... 239 hits in a 10" circle @ 40 yds.

i would like to check them out but man they aint cheap thats for sure.

But you get what you pay for..... if it doesn't shoot well for you, send it back and they will send you another one. Great Customer Service....

I use an IC choke in my 870 SP - it rocks!! I called Mike last year and discussed a choke recommendation for my gun. I expected the conversation to be 1-2 minutes, basically him answering my question and then us getting off the phone. To my surprise, Mike talked to me for 15-20 minutes about where I lived, how long I had hunted and numerous other things. It reminded me as if I were talking hunting with one of my closest friends. I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! I have never had the opportunity to meet them but I bet they are class acts! I was impressed with his genuine down to earth ability to discuss many topics with me and I was just as impressed with their chokes. I would recommend them to any of my friends and family!

I'm using one on my turkey gun, but without going to look, couldn't say what's the constriction. It was just what they recommended for the gun. I like it better than any other ported turkey choke, but I'm not really a big fan of "porting". Just bothers me to be constantly checking those ports for debris.

One in my sons 870 20 and one in my 870 super mag. My sons 20 shooting hevi shot #6 3" can almost outperform my 12 with #5 high velocity 3" at 40 yds.
If you can find some #7 hevi to load in your son's 20, it probably will produce a denser pattern than your 12 with #5's at 40 yards.

Which indian creek tube would be a good recommedation for an 870 that shoots a 3 inch shell?

You need to trade it out for a .670 Indian Creek choke and try that. You may even need to try a .675. I'll bet you will see a big difference.

Well I think .670 or .675 ought to be the cats meow in your barrel. My .669 shoots very well and so does my .675 with Hevi-13 #7 loads. Call Mike or Stuart and tell them Brad C. sent ya. They know me. They will guarantee your satisfaction. I would start out with a .670 and go from there. It should make your barrel into a hummer!

I would also polish your barrel. It should make your barrel shoot even better. If you need help on how to do it, shoot me a pm. I'll tell you what I did to my Rem 870 Express 28" barrel. It shoots very well with either Indian Creek choke.

Thanks, Brad I may give it a try.
