James franklin really was the real deal I guess.

Vandy really messed up by not writing a check to Franklin and letting him fill it in . They had a chance to really have a program for once and blew it . Sad ! As I always had a special place in my heart for Vandy .

A check wouldn't have kept Franklin. He was in the right place at the right time to build his resume. His "success" came during a time when the SEC East was down, as it is now. The only teams Franklin's Vanderbilt beat that finished with winning records: 8-5 Georgia and 8-5 Houston in 2013, and 7-6 Ole Miss and 7-6 NC State in 2012.

I'm not saying he isn't a good coach, but he had taken Vandy about as high as it could go, and he knew it.
