When I was a kid & in love with anything archery all this info was in a mental file but now days not so much.

My question is about arrow weight & spine, my trusty old 50# Grzzly seems to shoot what ever arrow I have at hand with no complaints, I still have some XX75 2117s from 1980 something along with a handfull of carbons bought from the big blue god of cheap stuff (on clearence of course).

I know too light amount of arrow weight can damage a bow but people talk about you need X amount of weight/spine or you'll have accuracy problems, but no matter which arrows I have in my quiver they all shoot straight & true.

Whats ya'lls experience with this subject ??

im still learning this recurve thing but i had to go down in arrow size because mine were way to stiff.they were tearing 6" left.(im left handed)i went to a smaller arrow and heavier field tip and they did much better.

Re: Arrow eight & spine question

Some recurves are cut so close to center they will shoot any arrow pretty well. Weight is a preference but you need to find the right spine for your bow. My bows are picky but they are Hill style longbows. Not even close to center and will not shoot carbons no matter what. Your lucky, keep that bow
