Arrow selection... Right on the edge...

340 is stiffer than 400 (at least in the Easton method of ennumerating carbon arrows). I would go with the 340. I am of the belief when faced with a choice, choose more spine not less.

Without a doubt, the stiffer spine. A weak spine will have negative effects on accuracy, consistency and energy loss to certain degrees depending on the severity of the weakened spine.

Thanks folks........ Oh, just another quick question... Could a spine get more weak over time & hundreds of shots... My 5575 arrows have probably 500-600 shots on them.....

I certainly believe that arrows will go "bad" and start to weaken over time; however, I also fully believe you will lose, ruin, throw them away, trade/sell them or upgrade to a different arrow before any of that happens. :)

RR -

Glad you asked the question about the arrow spine weakening over time.

I was going to ask the same thing since TNDeerGuy and I have some recent dialogue about arrow spine (specifically weak spine).

After finding out the I am shooting an under spined arrow and the info from this thread about the possibility of arrows going "bad" I think I will be in the market for new arrows since my 5575 Goldtips are from 2005.

Good info - thanks everyone.
