been practicing a little bit everyday to get back into shape as usual. Yesterday however i picked up my bow and shot at my target and to my surprise the arrow flew in a spiral. I still hit where i aimed but everytime i shot the arrows would fly spiral. Any answers on to why this suddenly is happening?

Tuning issue which covers a broad spectrum. Need to know more info on your setup such as type of rest, arrows, poundage, ect.

if it is just one arrow (same one each time),check your arrow over, make sure there are no cracks also.

otherwise you may be having a off day and form was off.

alot of times when shooting a different colored chocolate chip cookie feather, you will see the rotation of the arrow as "spiraling". this is an optical illusion. i had this "problem". i went to all the same color fletchings and have never seen this since.

I've seen this happen with other archers as well. Usually occurs when you have a brighter chocolate chip cookie feather, such as white.

BTW, your focus should remain on the target until the arrow hits it. You should never see enough of the flight of your arrow to notice it if you are shooting properly.

well this spiral is bad enough i couldn't help but notice it and my partner saw it too

At this point, your best option is to paper tune the bow and check for interference.

agreed. optical illusion. Your arrow will steer in one direction or another, it will not spiral.
