The survey question thread on the serious form got me some questions about the flight of arrows. Lots of people on there use a single pin, and then others use 3-4 pins with ten yard increments.
I figured that mine was the norm, but may not. Mine shoots from close range, 10 yards, to about 25 yards with no real differnce, maybe an inch and a half. So I have three pins, two of which I use. One is a pin that I shoot from 10-25, and the other is about 25-35. AFter that it starts dropping considerably. I could probably sight that last pin in for about a 40 yard shot, but I rarely hunt in fields with a bow where I have a 40 yard shot. Even in open hardwoods after leaves have fallen, 40 yards through woods is a long shot.
Maybe if I practiced more though I could become effective.

I like a three pin set up (20, 30, 40) but my pins are so close together I really should go to a one pin. I do practice using a single pin at 30 yards and in and am pretty comfortable with it. My longest shot on an deer in the woods is 32 yards. Practice in several different positions, sitting, kneeling, standing, elevated and concentrate on form, keep the triangle and bend at the waist. This will kep you from shooting high from a tree stand and help your muscle memory get you into the correct position without thinking about it. It becomes second nature.

When I shot multiple pins on my bowtech (before it was stolen) my 20 and 30 were too close together and cluttering my picture, so instead I set them at 25 and 35. 0-25 was easily covered in one pin and the 10 yard difference between 25 and 35 is a lot bigger than 20 to 30. I had a 25, 35, and 45 pin.. I told myself I would try and shy away from 45 yard shots but it was stolen before I had a chance anyways

I shoot a Trophy Ridge React 5 pin sight on a 70 pound Hoyt Carbon Element.

20, 30, 40, 50, 60.

The 20 yard pin is fixed. You sight it in using the 20 yard pin. Go back to 30 yards, adjust the 30 yard pin, and the 40, 50 and 60 yard pins are automatically set.

It literally took me 10 minutes to set up.
