Ascend Kayaks

I know a few people have them. What do you think about them, do you like them? How do they compare to other kayaks (that is, if you have experience with other kayaks)? Pros, cons, etc?

I have the D10. I'm about 6'1 and 250lbs. I can't stand in it but all smaller person may be able to. I have fished up to 6 or 7 hours in it and I've been very pleased.

I have the fs12t. It's a little on the heavy side but other than that I love the boat!

I bet you can stand in it. Ascend boats have a tri-hull design that makes them "feel" tippy when standing but are actually very stable. It took some practice and confidence building but I'm pretty used to it now. Tie a rope to the front handle to hold on to when going from sitting to standing makes it MUCH easier! I tied a loop and added a piece of hose on mine to make a handle.

I have a FS128T. It will list but won't flip (easily). It's heavy but tracks pretty good. Has deck room like an aircraft carrier. BUT the plastic is soft! Don't drag it to the launch. Invest in a roller cart. I've worn a hole in the stern of mine and had to weld a patch. The older deck hatches leak but I've been told that's been fixed. Bang for buck I still like them. Selling point for me was price and enough room for the dog.

Daughter in law caught this yesterday in her D10T
I am north of 300lbs and feel stable in my fs12t. My son stands in his and throws a cast net for shad. You can catch fish in the too.
