I still think vols have lost all confidence in Pruitt and it would not be unlikely for them to look at Gus given the fact he has beat ALABAMA and Kevin Steele ties to the vols
if they think they could get him it could happen .
I know their season hasn't been great but dang get a win on the road and then get fired the next day? That's a little odd.

Malzahn is one of only four coaches to beat Saban three times. The other three: Spurrier (UF 2x, USCar 1x), Lloyd Carr (Michigan), and Joe Tiller (Purdue). Tommy Tuberville was 4-3 vs Saban. Meyer was 2-2 and Swinney is 2-1.

The lack of OOC games has been profound. Hurt defenses ability to gel, hurt ability of teams to build depth, and I think we are seeing records were padded for some in prior seasons by having those games. Malzahn was hurt by missing those two G5 games and the FCS game. 8-4 or 9-3 looks a lot better than 6-4.
