First run since I tore my MCL. Was a struggle and the 15mph head wind didn't help but I made it and didn't hurt myself in the process. Running with a brace on sucks but it is what it is. Hopefully be full strength in 4weeks.

Will try to speed it up and get up to 6 by next weekend.

generally MCL do not require surgery like the PCL and ACL do. I had a complete tear of mine where it connects to the tiba which is not the most common area so i had to pretty much stay off of it and were a bigger style brace for the past 4 weeks. Today was the first time i have been able to really run (i was running and working out a lot prior to the injury) so it was nice to at least get out and push it even though i felt super slow

Somehow I missed this thread but as a I runner I know how crappy it is to be on the mend and finally get off the DL and go again. I run 45-50 miles a week so when I'm on the bench am not a very happy person to say the least.

I'd lay off of running til turkey season is over. One wrong step and that ends the hunting. Not worth that. ;)

Nah the doctor said I was good to go as of today! Said it was healing better then expected and could run all I wanted with the brace on. Even said I could start lifting again as well.

Need to get back into running shape asap and back to 50 miles a month. Makes chasing those turkeys way easier

Day 2. Was sore from yesterday but had to push through it. Today was much harder then yesterday but I expected that. Still a bit off the pace I want and will push for 4miles on thurs

What are you using to track the distance?

Nike+ running. its a cool app, tracks distance as well as elevation changes. can have friends on it and it shows how much each person has run per month. keeps a running total of overall distance you have gone as well. its a pretty good app IMO and its free

I don't run with my phone and have thought about a watch that tracks distance but that's pretty cool.

i like running with my phone because i usually listen to some of Andy Stanleys sermons on podcast while i run. he is an awesome preacher and has some very good podcasts. they are about 30mins each so its perfect for me.
