I had to replace the arrow retention spring on my Barnett Crossbow. Turns out they break quite a bit so it isn't uncommon. What it did though was mess up my scope! I'm going to have to shim it so that it will adjust properly.
Instead I put the Red Dot that came with the Crossbow back on it. I was surprised how accurately I can use a Red Dot while hunting with one in KS. I'm not the greatest at shooting with both eyes open, but find I can easily do it with a red dot scope. Now that it is back on the crossbow, I find I can shoot almost as well with it as I did the scope! I thought the magnification would be a huge problem, but it isn't at the normal 40 yards and in that you shoot a crossbow.
So what do you prefer? I actually like the scope and the Red Dot. I may put the scope back on and put a small red dot on there as well.
