I took my first 3 shots of the year yesterday at my 3d targets that I mix into my garden.

Two 10 rings at 36 and one at 43...shooting these is how I start each morning in the summer. All dead inside of 100 yard deer. I've got a lot more practice ahead of me but it feels good to be shooting well enough to kill deer at those ranges out of the gate. Some work on yardages (various 3d shoots), long range practice sessions, and each morning starting with 2 shots on the 3d targets...I typically talk myself through a hunting situation and even bleat to stop the 3d target. Im weird, but these are my plans for the summer.

What do you do to get in shooting form?

I am about to start shooting again myself! Really about the first two weeks I just try to shoot alot and get my muscles toned back up. Then I settle down and start focusing on accuracy.

Pretty much the same thing I do this time of year. When I draw, I try and hold for two minutes. By the time summer ends Im in top shape and can really hold long and steady.

I shot ALL night.

Won second in the Chickamauga Classic.

Had 434 lbs. in 20 fish.

It has become a yearly Birthday ritual for my son.
