Has anyone ever gotten what they think is bad glue? I bought a new tube of fletchtight earlier this year and I've had to constantly re-fletch because veins are just falling off. The other day I re-did 6 arrows and was extra careful to run a good thick line of glue and give it plenty of time to dry...when I shot them I had 7 veins fall off 6 arrows on the first shot. I picked the veins off the ground and there was not even a hint of glue on them?????? What the????

I had 6 arrows refletched at a reputable archery shop and the same thing happened to mine.Out of 6 arrows all but 1 had to be refletched and like you said, not hardly any glue on them???

Everyone else I talked to the guy refletched them fine.

Never liked fletchtite glue when I used it on aluminums , I use super glue gel on my carbon arrows and I have had good results for the past 10 years I have used it . Not sure how well it works on aluminum arrows .

I've used fletchtight for years with no problem....this is a first. What glue you guys using for plastic veins on an aluminum shaft?

yes I have seen bad glue. It is rare but I have seen it I use bohing glue products they seem to work good I have also used regular household superglue. Did you make sure the shafts were preped before glueing that makes a big difference also. I use acetone or rubbing alchol above 90% to clean and some carbon arrows glue better scuff up a little with a scotch brite pad. If they still dont stick good throw that tube of glue away . It would be bad to shoot at a deer with a broadhead and your vanes fly off. Then you might want to wrap your bow arounf the tree.

I believe proper prep is the number one key! I always scuff the arrows up real good with a scotch brite pad and then clean the shaft with acetone. I have seen people use alcohol, and even I have used it before, but the acetone does a much better job of cleaning the shafts. I have used all of the "archery" glues, but I have had much better results with Loctite Super Glue Gel. Since I have got into arrow cresting carbon shafts I have discovered, due to some trial and error (NOT MENTIONING A CERTAIN SOMEONE'S NAME HERE), that the Gorilla Super Glue Impact Formula is very impressiveI ripped a fletching in three different places, front-middle-back, trying to pull the thing off with needle nose pliers and it never even thought of coming off the arrow, instead I just distorted and destroyed a fletching.

The shop I went to the other day was using a stick of glue and melting it with a small torch for my inserts. 4 of the six have allready pulled out after about 3 shots. Cleaned up the shafts and inserts a used the ole fletchtight and all has been good after 30 shots from each arrow. I have used fletchtight only for inserts with no problems.
