Bryce Thompson has been arrested. Figured I'd beat our resident Gators to the punch. [emoji57]

Maybe it will not be too big of a deal but it will be bad if we lose him

With the domestic terrorist threat he made and with multiple witnesses of it, I'll be surprised if he is even allowed to remain in school.

Not saying it is totally right, but, in this day and age there is some shyt you just can't do and get away with it.

BIG blow to the Vols.

So he's a victim of red flag law?

He isn't a victim, period. Immature dumbazz maybe, but not a victim.

With the current political climate in this country, he messed with two of the most hot button issues that are out there. I'm not sure that UT can weather the media storm that is getting ready to hit even if they want to. I fully expect to see it scrolling across the bottom of the screen like the Andrew Luck announcement was last night.

I REALLY hope I am wrong, but I don't expect to see him playing at UT again

Sucks.

I don't expect him to play for UT, but he'll play for somebody.
Just seems extreme punishment for a verbal threat against a person, and an unsubstantiated domestic terror threat.
We've had people on this board, and specifically in this sub-forum make threats of violence against each other, going as far as giving locations on where to meet to throw down. Did we need to report those to the authorities next time it happens?

Feel free to do that if you want to be a snowflake. I don't think I've seen any of our dumbazzes threaten to shoot up a school on here.

It is a little different for vague bs from Keyboard Kowboys and a high profile player at a Power 5 school to do such foolishness..

Since he got out on $3000 bond, I don't think anyone is taking the "shoot the school up" too seriously.

Bond is one thing but the school discipline board is a different story. SCN already covered the biggest things that you never want to do on a college campus.... The articles also states that there were witnesses.

The report says there are 2 witnesses that didn't see Thompson, but ID'd him. Serious question: How does that work?

Exactly! There are no eye witnesses! How can that be used as a witness? But, if he is guilty he deserves punishment.

Earwitness can be reliable in court

Typically in DV cases court testimony will go something like this .

Do you know the defendant ?
Have you had the opportunity to speak with the defendant in the past and be able to recognize his voice?
Were you in earshot distance of the DV disturbance described in the courtroom ?

Then tell us on August 24th what you heard the defendant say .
