What a game! Came down to the last play. Receiver is tackled on the 2 yard line as the game ends. Any moron that says these bowl games shouldn't be played is clearly not a football fan.

I know. Yeah I wished UF was in a bigger bowl and players didn't opt out but I get it. Just miss the old days when everyone played in every bowl. The weirdos that say these bowls are meaningless have probably never been competitive at all.

I like it that most opt out and let the young guys get in the spotlight.
I don't mind it either. I would love to see Hyatt & Tillman run up and down the field on Clemson. But really those guys opting out and going pro could be the best thing for the program.

Gives them some experience in a big game with all the hype.

Yup, especially when your trying to see if your back up QB can be the guy next season. He wouldn't be passing to Hyatt and Tillman. His going to be playing next season with the guys on the field Friday.

So why not go to a deeper DI playoff, and move the bowl matchups to opening the beginning of the next year? This gives the fans more meaningful playoff structure, teams with players that opt out more time to prepare, and places more emphasis on the bowl games importance for the upcoming year.

That's a great idea, which means it'll never happen.

I would expect the host cities would balk since they prefer the influx during an otherwise slow time.
