Breaking my 3 year Ban in the NFL only to see if Baker Mayfield was going to play . It appears he was not scheduled to play but that may change now that the starter just hurt his left arm ???

Re: Baker Mayfield

I tuned out after the first half . Looks like I did not miss a thing as the score did not change one bit . Baker did not look all that impressive but then again they are going up against the Super Bowl Champions from last season so who knows . I sure won't be watching any more to find out .

he's like lamar jackson, he'll do good until they get 10-20 games of film.

Not sure what you mean by this cause Jackson followed up his Heisman campaign with an almost equally impressive season. More yards, better completion %, only 3 less rushing and 3 less passing touchdowns and 1 more interception. I'm rooting for him as he's comes across as a really nice guy to me in interviews. But I don't think he'll amount to much in the NFL as I think his style of play will lead to injuries much like what happened to RG3. Rooting for Mayfield as well. Something cool about the whole walk-on to #1 overall pick. Plus the Browns fans have suffered enough. Though I do get some satisfaction of the worm Jimmy Haslam owning such an awful team.

Re: Baker Mayfield

Worst thing he has going for him is he is in Cleveland. They seem like a great place to screw up a QB.

As far as comparing him to Manziel, he doesn't remind me of him at all. Mayfield is a leader on the field. Johnny was hungover on the field. I watched him against the Giants and he looked good. Of course that was the 2nd string D.

Re: Baker Mayfield

It is painful being a Browns fan, but I agree, a QB in Cleveland is a career ender before it gets started. I do compare his playing style to Manziel, not his off the field antics. It is rare that a gunslinger is very successful in the NFL as the quality of the defense is so much more consistent, but we will see!

exactly. once theres enough film these "professional" defensive coaches will stop it
