Bartons Creek Old Hickory?

Anyone ever fish this small creek? Im thinking about putting in there and headed out to the channel to do some fishing. Should I bother fishing up the creek to the channel?

Well, other than the fact a Bassmasters Elite event was won in that creek by Kevin Wirth back in 2008, I would recommend you fish it. There is lots to focus on and you could spend a day in there and never leave the creek. Always shallow fish in there and hitting the shore grass with buzzbait, frog, swim jig should produce. Don't pass up any wood cover or laydowns either. There's a few crappie stake beds in there in some of the coves and pockets too.
