Bass Pro pond prowler

First thing to do is build a rudder for it to keep you from spinning in circles. That is an absolute must.

Hear over to BassResource.com. There are hundreds of pages of discussions on these boats.

The only extras in my boat now are a fish finder, rudder, and some clips to hold a paddle. I also took off the hard plastic seats and replaced them with padded seats.

Once upon a time I had carpet, rod holders, cup holders, etc. I took all that off and simplified things. That stuff adds a lot of unnecessary weight.

It's also important to see what size fuse your trolling motor requires. The one built in to the wiring of the boat may not be sufficient. Mine wasn't, and the wiring melted in half one day, forcing me to paddle back to the ramp. I cut the wiring and added a new fuse holder with a larger fuse.

I would also recommend getting extra sheer pins for the trolling motor and keeping them in your tackle box.
