wondering if there are any turkeys up there. been deer hunting up there couple of times it was just ok. if there are turkeys up there wondering if there is a lot of hunting pressure?
 
I've hunted on the Alabama side of the mountain on a WMA several times. Shot my biggest Eastern there in '05.

Birds are not thick but they are there. They tend to roost right on the creeks up there. At least on the Bama side they do.
 
I have hunted there several times and never seen a turkey or heard one. Have seen some while deer hunting up there. The harvest report tells the whole story. With as many people who hunt there during turkey season only 2 birds were killed during the 2008 season, only 1 during the 2007 season. That means the success rate is right at 0%.
 
wow i would of thought there where plenty of birds up there. Glad you said something i was going to check it out guess i wont now. thanks.
