Bearded hens?

yup, beards are not sex related like antlers in deer. They are simply an abnormal feathering pattern not usually present in females. If present in females, it has nothing to do with 'hormones'. They are not any less fertile than other hens

Yea they can. Another reason why they should also be illegal to shoot.

Considering the low percentage of hens that are bearded, and the lack of desire to shoot one among many hunters, I don't see a problem with their being legal to shoot.

I've never seen one with poults but I have seen bearded hens with a gobbler, so at least they play for the same team as the other hens

I don't shoot hens, bearded or not! Ive got 2 here at the house that have been here for a few years now. They get a free pass, but come to think of it, everything gets a free pass here at the house! LOL. Through the years Ive let a few kids and every once in a blue moon, an adult that has hunted hard with no luck kill one. Other than that, its a safety zone.

"One" as in a male turkey (my guess), or a bearded hen?
LOL I guess I should have clarified that, adult male longbeards are all that's allowed here by anybody.
