Last week I hosted my bil from Conneticut on deer hunt in west TN. He has never deer hunted. He killed an 18 mos old 6 pt and a 36 mos old 8 pt that I wouldn't have shot. They were nice bucks but I've seen so much better.

he literally had tears of joy. He sent pix to all his buds in CT.

it reminded me that the joy of deer hunting is what pleases the hunter, not what the actual quality of the deer. It reminded me that the joy of deer hunting varies but there's nothing wrong with the joy of a successful hunt.

I remember a TV show called, "Chasing Tail". It was a reality show about some guys in CT who bow hunted the suburbs. It was funny and entertaining, but the deer those guys killed were not big. I'd say if it was anything even remotely representive of hunting up there, your BIL had the hunt of his life!

I'm not critical of anything that is killed. As long as they are legal so be it. To many things to worry about and we often take things for granted. I'm sure he was tickled!

Love hearing about people that still get excited! Nothing like it in my book!!

Congrats two you both on two true trophies!!! He will never forget this experience

Love to seeing the excitement of someone who kills a deer that is "top-end" to them, whether that be a yearling 6-pointer or mature 10-pointer.

Happy CT hunter
