Update: I just got this guy scored with TWRA after the 60 day drying period. The agent initially didn't think it would break the 165 needed for inclusion in the TN deer registry. But with 160 inches of typical, 20 inches of nontypical, and 6 inches of deductions, he scored 174 4/8s in the nontypical category. I couldn't be happier.

Never knew this buck was around until I shot it and a neighbor got in touch wanting to know if it was one he had on camera.
Any guesses on score and age?

Re: Before and After

Looks to be upper 150s plus the kicker tine. So prob upper 160s.

He doesnt look terribly old, prob 4.5, but hard to tell for sure with such an early trail cam pic

Re: Before and After

You know he was praying that the one you got wasn't the one on his camera lol. Congrats on the stud.

Before and After

Do you have any other pics after the kill? Straight on to see the spread for instance?

Based off of what we have to go on I'd guess mid 160's but hard to say honestly

My thoughts exactly. What an amazing animal! Congrats!

Deductions are for the main beam, tine length, and circumference differences between the two sides. I thought the same until I got to looking closely at the scoring criteria.
