Well figured I would give deer hunting a try after dove and duck hunting for years. Bought a used bow 10 days before opening season and got it tuned up and practice when I could when it wasn't raining and got comfortable with the setup.
Some buddies of mine took me down to Maury county on opening morning and braved the rain and saw a couple deer but none within range. Went back out in the afternoon saw 7 different does and finally had one walk under the stand. I'm not sure how she didn't hear me because I know I was shaking pretty bad and the heart rate was out of control. She walked dead away for about 15 yards then turned broad side and I let it fly. Ended up being a double lung shot and she only ran about 70 yards before dropping.
I got to say that I'm officially hooked now, got one with a bow on my first day of deer hunting and the rush was unreal. I know it isn't very big but I just wanted to get the first one under my belt and get some meat in the freezer.
