Well figured I would give deer hunting a try after dove and duck hunting for years. Bought a used bow 10 days before opening season and got it tuned up and practice when I could when it wasn't raining and got comfortable with the setup.

Some buddies of mine took me down to Maury county on opening morning and braved the rain and saw a couple deer but none within range. Went back out in the afternoon saw 7 different does and finally had one walk under the stand. I'm not sure how she didn't hear me because I know I was shaking pretty bad and the heart rate was out of control. She walked dead away for about 15 yards then turned broad side and I let it fly. Ended up being a double lung shot and she only ran about 70 yards before dropping.

I got to say that I'm officially hooked now, got one with a bow on my first day of deer hunting and the rush was unreal. I know it isn't very big but I just wanted to get the first one under my belt and get some meat in the freezer.

Thanks guys, I've been reading the site for a couple weeks now and finally had something good to post about.

As I told my friends, I'm officially hooked. The doe I shot was one of a group of 4 that all walked in within 20 yards. I came to full draw twice before finally getting a clear, good shot. When I first released it happened so fast I wasn't sure if I missed her a bit high or not. After about 20 minutes I finally quit shaking and got down from the stand to check the arrow and it was about 6" into the ground and covered the entire way in blood with small bits of lung, the Muzzy 3 blade did it's job.

Hopefully the luck will continue this weekend in Stewart county and I'll have some more pictures to post.
