Best broadhead target for the money?

How much do you shoot?

If you shoot a bunch, you'll have a Block shot out in no time with broadheads. Especially fixed blades. I'm talking specifically the name brand Block...there are several targets on the market that are cube shaped that are good broadhead targets.

If you shoot a bunch, there are just a few targets that I've found to hold up well.

#1 Blob style targets. The soft ones aren't as good as the firmer ones. They are basically left overs from where they make carpet/rugs that they have compacted/compressed into a dense material. If you get a firmer one...you're looking at about 10 years worth of hard shooting. I've had one for 8 yrs now that has stopped thousands upon thousands of arrows...field tips and broadheads and I still have spots on it that I've not even shot. The soft ones will last about 3-4 yrs of heavy shooting....which is way better than most other targets on the market.

2. Rinehart targets. Their 3D target material got it all started...the self healing foam is very neat. Over the last 7-8 years or so, they have started making the cube style targets for broadheads...such as the 18-1 target and some of the bigger ones of the similar design. These do a GREAT job for a commercial product. They have a deal with the 18-1 that if you shoot it out on all sides in a years time, they will give you another one. I know when I got mine, I made it a goal to shoot through the thing...I shot it with everything I had and when I had friends over we'd shoot the fire out of the thing. I've had it several years and still not shot through it. There are spots on it I could probably shoot through it now if I was 10 yards or less but 20+ yards with bows that are 330-350 fps...STILL not a problem. I can only imagine the bigger ones to be the same way, with just more area to shoot.

I agree completely with CT, the block targets are over-hyped and over-priced and for the money the blob target is the best value and will stand up to years of shooting! The Rinehart is an excellent commercial target as well, but for the money you pay the blob target is the best value. Look at it this way pay $50 for a bag target and $50 for a "block style" broadhead target and you will have pass thru's on both within a year, or spend $25 more and have a bare minimum of 3-5 years of shooting everyday....kinda of a no brainer if you ask me.

I don't own one but Secret Squirrrel has a Blob and it is hands down the best target I've ever shot into.

In regards to Rinehart, their 18-1 is a great target but their entry level 3-D target, the Woodland Buck, is ok. The main thing is having multiple targets within a target. You can see I shot up this Rinehart insert in two months with field points.

OK will show it one more time.

My BLOB.

Dont want to get in pissing match about how many arrows i shoot everyday or even every year.As i have seen in other threads.

Literally 1,000s and 1,000s of both field points and fixed blade broadheads.Muzzys to be exact.AND the back side has never been penatrated.

Here are some pics of my targets. All of them are in the weather 24/7.

First is my blob. This is the thicker version but it is also the softer material one. Have had this one 8 yrs. It still stops arrows, although if you hit certain spots in it, they will drive up to the fletch out of my bow...other wise, this thing has seen thousands of shots over 8 yrs in the weather. My parents have the denser/thicker ones, and theirs is in much better shape than mine is...and are several years older. Also in this pic, is my 18-1 Rinehart. You can see it has some wear on it, but keep in mind it is several years old as well. I got it the last year that Eagle's Wings was open up in Lenoir City, and that has been several years ago. It has stopped many many arrows and will continue to stop many more.

You can see the Block target in the background. Here's a closeup of the face of it. This is one of the better sides to it. This target is about 2 yrs old...and one year of that has been just sitting out back behind my main targets because it wouldn't stop an arrow anymore.

I get my targets made from the same stuff that is used in refridgerator insulation for free. It's about 4ft tall so it should last a lifetime.

Sweet trophy! I guess as much as I shoot I should compete more. I've been a few times to the Old Hickory Shoot.

I like my Block Black target , I also like Big Green targets , but arrow removal can be more difficult and they tend to leave residue on the arrows .

not sure how long it will last with shooting broadheads, but for field points I am loving the black hole with the yellow canvas wrapped around it. Stops arrows fine and easy removal.
