Im looking for a new mouth call and was wondering what yalls opinion was and which ones you think are the best?

IMO woodhaven make GREAT ones...the red wasp is a pretty popular one in their line.

HS Strut make some decent ones as well.

mouth calls are to each his own though with so many cuts and reed combinations. Some people blow alot of air and others not so much so you have to match your calling type to the call to find the "right one"

Legacy and woodhaven are my personal favs though.

Woodhaven has my vote..I like the copperhead and copperhead II along with the red wasp.

My second choice is a Knight and Hale #70 or screaming hen

I like the red wasp awful well.It has a real raspy tone and the cutts sounds really good with it.

x2

Plus, you can flip it over and get some sweeter yelps with it as well.

I have one of every brand out there... I really like the Woodhaven Red Wasp...It has a sound all its own...

The Will Primos signature call sounds pretty good too...

I have a couple of the Quaker Boy calls and they choke me to death...I have a hard time with the thick foam construction..

I definitely think I am going to lean toward the Woodhaven..

see this is the perfect example of TO EACH HIS OWN.

Personally i think MAD calls are junk same as Quaker boy calls but others really like them (no disrespect just my own preference)

I like something that requires some air to make work so I tend to shy away from anything less then 3 reeds (depending on the type of reeds they are)

again my advise is just buy a few different brands and cuts and see what you like about each and then find others with the same quality or materials.

Agree totally. The new flextone (endorsed by Michael Waddell) sound great too. I don't remember which one I got but it and the red wasp (as usual) will be my main ones I use.

I have called in numerous birds with a ol' boss hen Quaker Boy call. I would do like may have said and just buy a few and practice with them. I probably carry 4-5 different types when I'm in the woods.
