Im in the market for a new slate call. I have always used cody calls and have zero complaints, however I seem to loose one every single year. So im trying to get a good quality call at a lesser expense. Ive tried a few that walmart carry and I am not going to take those to the woods. I have in my earlier days and it seemed to scare the birds more than brought them in. Whats you opinions on this?

What is your budget and how soon you need it? I own several custom slate calls, but I always find myself taking my Darrin Dawkins slate in plastic pot. It is $50 shipped to your door.
Halloran new walnut/wedge or a Lon trice yellow heart slate..

If you have trouble with losing calls, I wouldn't pay top dollar for a custom call. Why not stick with Cody if you've had good luck with it? Looks like they sell for $40

If you're losing them I'd stay on the cheaper side and get a Knight & Hale Ole Yeller.

How do you loose them? If that's the case I would stay very cheap like said above the ole yeller. If you want a custom call holloran jimmy Shaffer or Darrin Dawkins.

I honestly have no idea. I think it may be my vest. It has side pockets with magnets and I think they are not staying together when I move around. 3 years ago I lost a cody slate and glass call. The past 2 years Ive lost a cody glass both years.deerhunter10":3mruw5r1 said:
