but I believe pro shops will play as big a part or bigger than box stores in the death of pro shops. Two weeks ago today I ordered a cam for my DXT. I was called three days later and told they needed the draw length, which I gave when I ordered it. After checking a few time and nothing, I call today and check to see if it has came in. I was told the order didn't go through and they were making another order today. If it wasn't like 30-40 to the closest other dealers I would have told them to just forget it. I know stuff happens but come on. It takes two weeks to get something ordered a realize it didn't go through. Don't the people get order confirmation or tracking numbers?

so called pro shops are cutting their own throat by having the same 1980 attitude that only they know how to work on bows and order parts, i do all my own work and order my own parts

I do all my own work so I won't have to worry about them putting the cam on. Unfortunately, I think you have to get everything for a Mathews from a dealer. A big sarcastic thank you for that Mathews.

I have bought cams off archerytalk and ebay for my Mathews bows. I know what you mean about some proshops though. I waited on a string for 3 weeks. I ended up ordering my own and got it in 5 days

I tried every way in the world to find a cam on archery talk and ebay. I only found one and the guy didn't take paypal and it would have been cheaper probably to buy one at a dealer than give what he wanted. I mean I literally probably looked for two months because I wasn't in a hurry. I guess I couldn't find one because I needed a left hand cam. However, the length was 28" so I wouldn't figure it would be all that rare of a cam. I finally gave up and get went to the shop.

i just found a pro shop in chattanooga tn area that has the "i can help" attitude. if you need service look up turks pro shop . cool guy

AirMan, I agree with you to an extent. Too often many Pro Shops are run with a "decades of past" attitude and don't want to take time to explain, listen or helpthey know it all, and it's worked well for years attitude; but the big box stores are putting a major financial hurt on their smaller counterparts. Look at The Archery Den for example, there is a good reason why they have their website with all of those itemsthey could never survive just as a "walk-in" pro shop by itself and need to supplement their sales when going up against the big-box competition.

I figured out how to do much of my own repairs and such just because of smart a** attitudes at the pro shops. When I first started with archery I did not know much or anyone else to ask. But when you go to some pro shops they would rather stand around and shoot the crap with their buddies than help someone. for those guys. don't feel sorry one bit that the market has shifted. That being said we I need something done that I can not do myself I go to a pro shop rather than a guy they promoted from cashier to the archery department.

Well said glad to see other people have same feelings and opinions...as well as experiences, especially that last sentence

I think more proshops should pay attanetion to the customers who walk through the door , rather than the regulars who stand around BS'ing and taking up their time .
I notice that more and more these days . There is a proshop here that I go to buy accessories , but they don't acknowledge me or other customers when we walk through the door , while they BS with their buddies .
I do my own work on bows , but I still buy accessories I need at the proshops if they have the items in stock .
Proshops are the lifeblood of the industry , but they need to treat their customers right to stay in business . The shops that do not have competitive pricing , internet sales , and have an arrogant attitude won't last long these days.
