I got my first turkey ever on Sunday and I wanted to thank all of you who take the time to put all this helpful info into these forums! He gobbled all the way up the ridge and came in a diagonal line towards my hen decoy. Poked his head out of the thick at 15 yards!

23lb 11in 6in and 6 1/2in beards, 1in and 1.5in spurs





 
You'll probably have step on a lot more turkey necks before you find one that tops that one. That's awesome. Congrats.
 
That's exactly what my papaw told me, probably be trying to beat my own record for 20 years. I have to say it was one of the best experiences I have had in the woods, hearing him gobble a little closer till he sounded like 5 toms sitting on top of me. Thanks everybody! After hunting every spare moment I had he was more than worth it.
