heard 3 diff birds gobble and set up where we thought we'd get one. nothing happened and at 7 decided to move down a little bit. walked about 200yds and spotted a gobbler about 400yds out in a corn field. about 15mins of watching him somebody shot at him (tresspasser) twice and missed. he flew off and i knew about where he was going. so me and big8's walked back to the truck, dropped all the gear off and headed to the front part of my property. we walked in the field and called a little bit and had 5 jakes come in on us but went in the woods about 70yds. finally after about 20mins of calling had 2 gobblers step out at 40yds and the rest is history.
he has a 9 inch beard with 1 inch spurs. i couldnt get a shot on the other bird because we were sitting back to back in the field to stay comfortable because we were about 20yds out in the open field trying to locate a bird when the jakes showed up and suprised us.
