Just got my M-80 a couple of weeks ago and set it up on a spot I havent hunted in a few years. I checked it today and got the biggest deer I have ever got on cam. He is hard to see. He never would get close to the cam. Age/score guess?

Just not enough detail for an accurate guess.

About all I would venture is this buck is 2 1/2 or older (very likely either 2 1/2 or 3 1/2). Has good tine length, but not much mass (compare his antler beam diameter to his eyes). I think it's likely he'll score between 120 and 130, which is exceptonal for a 2 1/2 and very good (in TN) for a 3 1/2.

Your pic was post-season (if the date's correct), so you have much to look forward to this fall. If he's 3 1/2 now, he'll likely gain a lot of mass and another 15" or so in score. If he's only 2 1/2 now, he could have a monstrous gain of antler in the coming year.

Be nice if you could find one of his sheds this spring. :)

i have another picture but i cant tell if it is the same deer. will post in a second

Thanks for the input. I feel all jacked up like I just shot him haha. I just haven't ever seen such a nice buck in this area. This land is surrounded by people who shoot anything. I'm glad to see some of my hard work and time is starting to pay off. Crazy part is, I want my wife to get him for her first deer more than I want him lol.

I think it's most likely the same buck, just looks a little different due to side view vs. front view. But without greater detail, can't say for sure.

That's a little better pic for aging, but I can't say it changes my thoughts. Still think he's likely a top-end 2 1/2 (antler-wise) or an above average 3 1/2.

I'll try to get some better pics and get back on here within the next couple of weeks. I've never shed hunted.... I may start.

I agree with Wes- 2.5 or 3.5. He's definately a great buck but it's hard to score. I might be wrong but e looks like a high 120's to mid 130's eight pointer. His score doesn't matter much considering he is young. Hopefully he will grow thicker horns next year, I think mass would really help his score.

It's frustrating - dang coons eat all my corn before the deer even get in that area during the day - I adjusted the feed times so we'll see this weekend if it helped -

I'd like to make some coon skin caps :)

but as soon as you stop the feeder they haul butts -

That work you did to the picture really made the deer stand out, thanks a bunch.I went back today and poured some mollases on the ground closer to the camera and trimmed up some limbs, and cut that pine on the left down. Hopefully we can get up close pics soon. Thanks for all the input.
