Bill Buckner

Yep...Bart Star gone as well...but he was 85 I believe. Buckner was 69 and suffering from some form of dementia associated disease.

I met him years ago when he was a traveling hitting instructor in the minors with the Blue Jays. It was at the time Charlie Sheen supposedly purchased "the ball" form the World Series error. He was being interviewed by someone like "Inside Edition" before batting practice and he told them that Sheen's purchase was a fake. He actually had "the ball" himself. He was not too kind with that reporter. It was late in the season and he left after that game that night to go on an elk hunt.

I can't imagine having to live one's life after something like that.

It totally eclipses everything you've done prior and everything after; unless of course, you were to hit a HR to win a World Series.
