So I have this one bird in particular that I have hunted for what is now my 3rd season...I have thrown everything I can think of at him. Multiple different calls pots, box, diaphragm (no wing bone)...I have tried with different decoy setups I've tried no decoys... I've tried setting up under his roost tree...I've tried cutting him off from where he was going and no matter what he somehow evades me!!![emoji35] I have become obsessed with killing this bird so this morning I head to the farm he's on. Like clockwork he starts hammering on the limb. I sat quietly waiting for him to pitch down once he did I yelped and he responded. To which I gave a minute and then cut back at him only problem was he wasn't there!!!! This is a woods bird not a field bird but I am frustrated to no end. It's like I am wearing a big neon sign in the woods...does anyone else have a bird that they have become obsessed with and couldn't kill?

give him a couple weeks
once he gets lonely they are pretty easy to figure out
find out where he likes to hang out and get there and wait

Dang man, it's too early to get on a season wrecker. If you have opportunities, I would look elsewhere for a few days.

I usually will hunt this bird 1 time a week so I don't spook hi to bad...I named the
b@$turd "nemesis"

I had one like that for 3 years. He had a very unique gobble and would never come closer than 70 yards. I tried the silent treatment, aggressive calling, and everything else I could think of. I tried for 3 years to kill him and the next year the property was sold. I miss that place and that bird.

Haven't had a season wrecker myself but it could happen. I often have trouble telling one longbeard from the next, they all look about the same.
