I had taken last Friday off work for my Birthday and wanted to do nothing more than hunt.
I had a friend of mine with me that is just getting started turkey hunting and was looking for his 1st bird.
We were set up under a cedar tree and were WELL hidden.
I made a few calls and had hens answering me to our right. So I just shut up and let them do the work for me.
Not much longer we saw 3 longbeards crest the hill out front and strutted a minute then came a runnin'
WE did the 1...2...3... count BOOM and then got to thanking the good Lord.
His bird was 22.5LBS, 11" beard, 1" spurs
Mine was 21.5LBS, 11" beard, 1.25" spurs
