Here's a tip for everyone that uses Bitzenberger fletching jigs, and have problems getting the front of a Blazer vane to seat the arrow. Bitzenberger clamps come with a slight ridge down the middle, and sometimes with shorter vanes that ridge will contact the arrow and keep the front of the vane from seating well. Take a file and file down the first 3" of the clamp until it feels flat. I've done it to all my jigs and it makes a huge difference.

Good tip . I have a 25 year old Bitzenburger and it fletches Blazers well. I never noticed the ridge on the clamp ?

I have not had any trouble unless trying to put too much offset in. What ridge you talking about? Even with lots of offset jig doesn't touch arrow. It just becomes hard to make a straight line curve around round arrow. Maybe you need to post picture so we can see what is going on.

Same here, no ridge that I can detect. Like that has been said, you can't put to much helical on a short fletching. I keep an Allen wrench on the turn table with my jigs so I can make quick adjustments to the clamp so the base of the fletching will touch before I put glue on the fletching. In fact ,that is a better tip than filing down a "ridge" on a your clamp. That advise being.....place fletching in the clamp and and then place fletching in the jig and dry fit the fletching. Making sure the base of the fletching touches the shaft all along the distance of the base to insuse a bond once glue is placed on the fletching and then placed in the jig for glueing.

I do the same with a dry fletch .
