Shot my first blazer vanes today seem to shoot a tighter pattern than the 4" vanes I have always shot. Bought a dozen...I think it was a good investment.

I don't want to hijack your thread jdyer, but I am currently shooting 4in vanes and was thinking of shooting the blazers,if I switched, would I have to adjust my sights?

Just a word of caution to those buying blazers. I shot blazers for 2 years and loved them. Then I got a "bad batch" and they wouldn't stick to anything. I usesd the same prep methods, same arrow, same glue. They just wouldn't hold. I have since heard of this happening to two different friends of mine and my brother. Not bashing, just wanted to share my experiance. Blazers have a huge name and they are very popular, but I would suggest exploring a little bit. There are some awsome alternatives out there right now. Again not bashing, I shot blazers for two years before I started having trouble.

I bought blazers to put on my arrows originally... I'm back to feathers... My arrows seemed to have a "funny" flight pattern with them, and would enter the target at slightly different Directions... So if you looked at the target from top to bottom arrows would look like /\\/|/ instead of |||||| like they should be... Just what happened to me...

I had problems with some blazer and I called their customer service and they sent me new ones and the best part was no run around.Blazers shoot great especially with slick tricks.

That sounds like spine issues or center shot to me.

I was constantly tearing fletchings from good arrows when praticing. I really don't have much spare time to re-fletch.

Since I switched to the CE maximas with the 2" Blazers.
These 2" blazers are tough. really hold up well.
All I buy now.

had the same problem and i made the switch last summer love them.

nice turkey hunting in Maury co. LCU love it down there!

Blazers are good vanes but are really finiky when it comes to fletching them. It took a lot of fletching and refletching before I found what they really liked. For sure, they favor a straight clamp with as much offset angle as you can get. For me, I found that a really sharp right offset made them fly great. When I fletched the same arrows with no offset, and the same straight clamp, they flew everywhere ESPECIALLY with broadheads.

There's a few companies now that have similar vanes that I want to try. I have some of the AAE Max Hunters right now that I am going to play with, but if I can't get them right, I will be back to the Blazers myself.

If you like Blazers, try Norway Fusion vanes. You will love them. I shot blazers for years, and recently switched to Fusion vanes. Man they glue on sooooo nice. thicker than a blazer also. Flight is about the same, but everyting else about them is better IMO.

Ricky how does the Fusion compare to AAE's Maxx Hunter.

Also the duravane predators are another great High profile vane. They are very sturdy and durable. Not quite as tall as the blazer. I guess i'm just a fan of low profile vanes. No clearance issues. As long a I shoot a mechanicle broadhead and my bow is tuned I shoot the duravane 3d 2.3

I haven't shot the Maxx Hunter so I can't compare. Sorry. :) I haven't had any clearance issues at all though.

I did not have sight issues everything seemed to shoot the same. I was worried about sight adjustment as well, but it did not seem to be an issue.
