he new deal, announced Thursday by the school, would raise Petrino's base pay from $3 million to $3.875 million in 2016, beginning July 1, with $50,000 increases every year, starting July 1, 2017 and going through June 30, 2023.

Jurich said the buyout clause from Petrino's initial contract, which stated that the coach would owe the school $10 million if he left for another job, remains in place under the original terms. That buyout decreases as the years pass and will be $5 million in the final two years of the new contract, continuing what it was set to be in the sixth year of the original deal.

Nah, he's trash and better as somebody else's problem
 
If he can recruit to Louisville and stay away from trouble, he has a pretty good gig.

He can coach.
