Well I can't complain too much, saw 20 turkeys from 4:30 till dark. Started on Priest and saw jakes at two fields. couldn't get close enough to any of em. went to my land and back to the property behind mine that I have permission on. seen 2 hens working toward the field and wasn't sure if they had a tom with them or not. get set up, 5 minutes later i hear a gobble way in the back of the property. run back there, and they are on the next property over. 1 tom, 2-3 jakes, and 2-3 hens. I call and they aren't even paying attention. it is getting closer to 7 pm and I see which direction they are going, and because i have looked at Google images I know they may come onto the property I'm on to roost. I am in a hardwood stand. I move back and set up where i see turkey feathers on the ground and keep watching and finally get impatient and figure they ain't coming, so i Pull a Catman and decide may as well look for some mushrooms. I work back to where i spotted them and look up the hill and there they are still on the other side of the fence, but right beside it. They saw me so instead of coming over they circled back and roosted about 40 yds away. Oh well. go to leave and see 3 going to the wood line across the field. By now it is getting dark. I have to go, so i walk out. sure enough bumped about 7-8 other hens and jakes off roost leaving. Kinda messed up, but it was kinda fun.
