No bashing. Someone was asking a question. You know with ????? Marks and everything.
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=338498&start=40

Here is the quote.

"I guess the real question is

With all the player melt downs mid / late season the decommitts what confidence can the university have in from a recruiting standpoint ??

Potential players and their families no doubt will be tainted by all of this . Will it prevent him from filling out the ranks with the top talent when there are other schools without these issues ??? "

With this BOOM! and Latest Commit it will no doubt propel Vols into the #1 position come July and a SEC East in the bag. LOL

That's all I did also was ask a question (you know with ?????? marks & everything ) no reason to freak, and I quote....

" was someone not just bashing UT for a couple 3* players jumping ship"???

I was not even talking about you chill bud

I did hear stuff like CBJ would not get any more Big time recruits lol I'm sure everyone heard stuff like that never said it came from You or Tndeer.

I really am curious to know what went through his thought process in making his decision ??

I'm guessing going to UA or OSU and riding the bench behind other 5 star talent until it is his turn, versus coming to TN and playing immediately factored in. With Bama starting a true freshman (I think) this year at left tackle, Trey probably didn't like the odds of much playing time there until that guy left for the pros.

Although, IMO, every high school lineman should redshirt to get ready to play big boy ball in the SEC, since he is an EE, he is most likely in the 2-deep as soon as he sets foot on campus, and has a chance to start as a true freshman.

From SECcountry....... Im sure hard recruiting over the last 3 years had to do with his decision.

"Although late pushes from Ohio State and Alabama gave Smith something serious to think about, it appears both schools were hard-pressed to make up years worth of relationships established at Tennessee."

"The Vols were the second major program to offer a scholarship to Smith, and Butch Jones & Co. have cultivated a close bond with Smith and his family since 2014."

"They attended his games, hosted a satellite camp in Jackson, hired his sister Ashley as part of the football operations department and watched him win multiple Tennessee Mr. Football Awards. Furthermore, the 6-foot-5, 310-pound lineman grew a fondness for Knoxville, coming to multiple games and becoming buddies with a bunch of Tennessee players."

"Add it all up, and familiarity reigns. The Vols have always sat in the catbird seat."

'I would rather eat worms than play for Alabama.'

He was probably thinking something like that. :D

Wish the kid the best. He's a good one for sure. Happy he stayed home and didn't go to Bama.

That actually makes sense. He probably would not see much time on the field at ALABAMA .

Nick sure showed some interest in him. No skin off my back. I don't see a single area where ALABAMA needs help in. Team looks strong rolling into 2017 . Hurts will only continue to improve which has been (wait for it) OUR weakest link this year. Weak may not be the right word. Maybe erratic or shaky. But he is a freshman .
