just a spawn off the SCOPE thread. do you tend to shoot with both eyes open or 1 eye closed...do you do it different depending on the weapon?

i dont think there is a RIGHT answer just a matter of comfort when it comes to this subject. I was always taught to shoot with both eyes open so that is just what i have always done regardless of the weapon. there are times during archery that i have to close my left eye but majority of the time i never even really notice that it is open. seems with both eyes open i get quicker at finding the target and depth perception not to mention less eye fatigue when having one eye closed for an extended amount of time. it also seems to me that with both open i can see better in low light conditions. anyway just thought it was a subject i have never really seen on here...

Shooting at doves, both eyes open, shooting at turkeys both eyes open, and for some reason shooting through my scopes on my muzzeloader and rifle, one eye closed.

Left eye closed all the time whether it be an open sight or scope. Only exception is when I am shooting my blowgun, then it's about half the time one eye and half the time both eyes, depending on how I feel like shooting.

I am super right eye dominant and shoot with my left closed! I just cant seem to break the habit!
