I was hunting with Tom Jennings, Jim Dougherty and Chcuk Adams. Tom was shooting an experimental Jennings that became the Shooting Star. Another hunter in camp, apparently unaware of who he was, was watching us shoot. We were shooting for .25 a shot on who could get closest to the first shooter's arrow without hitting it. He kept trying to figure out what was going on and finally asked Tom, what brand bow he was shooting. I thought Duogherty was going to wet his pants laughing.

I just remembered; I was shooting a Martin and the two Jims were shooting Hoyts. Tom was the only hunter in camp shooting a Jennings. He also killed the only deer.

The second compound i ever owned was the Arrowstar.....my best friend had the Shooting star.....we purchased them around 1978 i believe.......had a good conversation with Mr. Tom Jennings about that at the Missouri deer classic a few years back....had my pic made with him never realizing that i had my "Hoyt" cap on.... A real Gentleman and overall nice guy! Will always admire him.

I met him at Anderson's Archery Clinic back in the 80's . Nice , down to earth person to chat with . My first compound was a Jennings Sidekick , made in 79 or 80 .

My first compound was a Ben Pearson Bushmaster.
My second was a Jennings T-Star.
In 1985, it was the fastest round wheel bow out of the box. (according to Jennings)

I have it hanging in my garage as we speak. It is my bow fishing bow.

I killed 23 deer with it and won MANY indoor dot shoots before I bought another bow.

Jennings made a great, state of the art, bow.

My story of meeting Tom Jennings was not the usual way to meet anyone. I was at the Tn Deer Classic sometime around 1995 or 96. Mother Nature was calling some headed to the bathroom. As I was standing at the urinal relieving myself I heard the door open and someone walked in. I knew the person had walked up one of the other urinals a spot or two away from me. Looking over I realized who it was. "That is Tom Jennings", I thought. After some pleasantries and hand-washing we engaged in a conversation that lasted a good while. Super nice guy.

I killed this elk with a Jennings of some sort. That is my ace videographer, Gary Holmes with on the heavy cameras.

Jennings was one of the top bow companies in their early days . I miss the older companies and their founders in the sport these days . They represented the sport well .
