If you have a boat and can get to the island then you greatly increase your chances. If not then you will have to hunt the "mainland", which is mainly huge cornfields and bordering hardwoods. The problem with hunting the "mainland" is that the last several years, they have not cut the corn and that is where you will find the majority of the deer the minute people start walking around, which probably has been happening for over a week now--the deer in the cornfields have great cover, unlimited food and water nearby.
