I have been thinking about bow hunting them this year instead of the shot gun. Any why's or why not's? Will my same broadheads be ok? I shoot thunder heads. Aim point? Year before last was my first year hunting them and I shot 3 birds it was a great season I'm hooked last year I hunted 2 times and didn't get the chance to close the deal I just was wondering it seems I would have about the same range but i would have a higher chance of getting busted drawing back. Any input would be appreciated thanks

I bow hunt turkey, my suggestion is decoys & a pop up blind. I have killed one with a bow from a tree stand. If you don't have a pop up blind, the tree stand is the way to go imo. Also, don't us expandable broad heads. You can research for diagrams on the internet for shot placement using a bow. I know there are some good diagrams over on archerytalk.

Last spring I shot my 9th turkey with a bow, and knock on wood I havnt used a blind yet. Killing birds with a bow is alot like pattern deer and trying to figure out how they will approach you.

So you wait them out or call them in?
I got a pop up and a climber

The maturing as a hunter is for all the guys that think you mature as a hunter you start hunting big horns I hunt for meat plain and simple that's all I want how do you mature from that? I try to kill all does if that mature so be it I think they taste better!

I tell myself every year after I kill one with a gun I'll pull out the bow but haven't done it yet. I figure they've already got the advantage on me so why give them something else to beat me with. One of these days I will at least once.

I love chasing the ole gobbler with stick n string. Doing it without a blind is task in itself. Doing it without decoys and blind is another level...

I chased the same bird for 12 straight days last year, called him to me several times. Couldnt get a shot, he would hang up not exposing vitals, had hens all over me, had him hang on the opposite side of a creek, got busted by hens and jakes once, it was so much fun. Ended up getting him and he is my biggest bird to date.

Depending on how you want to stick one, the pop up blind and decoys will bring him into range. Just google where to hit them... I prefer them broadsided, and hit them right where there wings connect to their body. Second place I like to shoot the is directly facing away from me...yup, straight in the plumbing!

Good luck hope you tag you a couple bow birds

Shot my first turkey with a bow this fall on a stalk, using Muzzy 100 gr. This was a great experience and rates as one of my all time hunts. Go for it.
