OK I have all ways been a Mathews man and bought new but thinking about buying a Hoyt off of archerytalk let's say I buy one and in great shape and year down the road something breaks, cracks etc since the bow has done been registered is the bow still under warranty? Or is all warranty lost when bow transfer buyers?

You pay your money and take your chances! Most dealers will help you out on cost if you are not the original owner. You just have to weigh the cost to benefit ratio for your situation.

Sometimes buying a slightly used bow makes a lot of sense and parts aren't too terribly expensive and for example: Hoyt RKT cams $100.00. Hoyt Limbs run from $100.00 to about $250.00. Usually the riser is the most expensive component and how often do they go bad?

If I were to buy as an example a 2013 Hoyt Pro Comp Elite from the used bows on AT for $800.00-900.00 I'd be saving at least $600.00 off the price of a new one. If I shoot the bow for six months and a limb failure occurs and I have to buy new limbs I would still be under the price of a new one!

Bows depreciate in value like a car. As soon as you drive it off the lot, it's used. ArcheryTalk is a buyer's paradise...some guys on there will buy 20 bows a year, every year, then run maybe 100-200 arrows through them and sell them. Basically what they done was settle the string/cables for you and gave you a huge discount. Like Dixie said...in a lot of cases, you can get parts by paying for them, and they really aren't that bad of cost if something does go wrong.

With that said...I enjoy having local dealers, and if I really like the dealer, I will just go ahead and buy new from them vs used. Yes I pay more for it than a used bow, but when I like them, I know that it helps support them and a lot of problems can be fixed at the dealer's shop too. But I must add, there are very few that I choose to support, and if it happens to be a bow model that I want that they don't carry...used is where I go.

Well crow
That's where I am I want a hoyt and want mention no names but I have been to this one Hoyt dealer 2times and my girlfriend has been there 1 time and and there attitude was horrible so for me not to drive over a hour one way I was looking at AT

As for warranty work just have the original owner send it back. When I sold my last bow I gave the person my info and told him if there was ever a problem I would get it sent back and fixed and he could pick it up.
