Ill be in need of replacement strings and cables in the near future for my Mathews Switcback XT. Any recommendations on custom string companies?

EnergyWave has previously mentionedMatt makes the best string you will ever see on bow, and at the most affordable price as well. There are many reasons why his strings have been on my bows for years now.

Like others have said , Energy wave is the place to go for strings/cables . Probably the cheapest prices you will get too . I have a set on every bow I own and won't run anything else on them . Seriously high quality .

There are lots of great string builders out there. It's not like there's some secret material for building them. The TnDeer crowd has a man crush on Energy Wave stuff though. I've had strings from him and several well known builders from ArcheryTalk and to be honest with you, 452x is 452x no matter who puts it together. And the same for 8190. Matt's prices aren't that much cheaper than anybody else either. He's about the same price as the other string builders out there on ArcheryTalk. Its basically up to you to decide. The only bad string I've ever ran across were the Zebra strings anyway.

I have gotten strings from Deezlin , 60x, barn burner , pro line . Etc ....... I feel like once a company gets to the point where they start mass producing . Their quality really suffers .
That's why I like Matt's strings . I support him because he's just an average small businessman trying to make a livin .

I don't know about the man-crush comment, and think that is a little much, but I will support a fellow archer, TNDeer member and a fellow Tennessean as much as I can, until I'm done wrong or see a change that warrants a change! You're right....452 is 452, but how 452 is done is the difference. Is it built by hand, pre-stretched for hours or just a few minutes, is it built by the owner/professional or by some inexperienced individual that knows nothing about archery that is being paid slightly above minimum wage because of a backlog of orders and does it have an outstanding warranty that is completely hassle-free should something be wrong with the string? There is something to be said about what happens to these string makers, and their quality, when they really start to get big. I can remember when VaporTrail first came out and the quality and warranty currently is a mere shadow of what they once wereso, I don't guess 452 actually is 452 when you really think about it. :)

I've probably bought 2 dozen or more string sets from ArcheryTalk and other places. Of those, I have only had one set that was downright unusable without me having to fix them myself. It's hard to go wrong with most of the guys on AT that are brought up frequently.

Yep I've had strings from Breathn, Little Jon, Wolverine, Strict9, Crackers, and 60x from ArcheryTalk.

They have all been pretty good, and each person/company has their own fan club of followers that love them. 60X's were probably the one I was most unimpressed with...they were more expensive than the others.

Oh I almost forgot...whomever made the strings for Elite in 2012...were horrible. It was what prompted them to go to Winners Choice.

I have not tried all of them out there but have tried and few. Matts did well on my bows and were one of the only ones that after 5x6 shots my peep was set and didn't creep anymore. Matts local for me so its even better just due to if i have an issue i just go by his shop and he fixes it. Im sure there are other strings out there just as good as his but him being local and a good guy to deal with its an easy choice.

Oh and he is a bama fan which automatically makes him a better string builder.

I tried messaging emailing Matt and havent gotten a response yet.....i asked about a price on a custom blue and white string with red serving and cables because i was wanting new for my 2010 black ice flx if any of you talk to him tell him to message me here please

I talked to him Wednesday and he has been sick plus he has a brand new baby. FYI you will probably get a better response calling him 615-426-3425

He is very sick, pig-headed thing won't go to a doctor for nuthin'....LOL, and as UTG noted, he also has a brand new baby boy. I did call him and told him to check your post TN Whitetail Freak, so he will be in contact with you I'm sure.
