Planning on going up the week of Oct 10th till 16th. anyone ever hunted up there that could give me some info ? The farm is full of drws into bottoms that are planted in corn. Help please. going to a private farm so I am limited on publicly ging out to much info ? Does rattling or decoys really work there??

Sorry - I'd love to help - but I'd have to see it in person to help :)

Seriously tho - probably still a little early at that time to see alot of pre-rut activity - they may be doing some scraping. Probably best bet is to find some good heavy cover travel routes between bedding areas and the corn...

I wouldn't rattle if the place has been hunted much, maybe a little light sprarring. I'd look for oak mast to huntin the mornings and the field edges in the evening. Unless somebody is going to be there giving you advice, I'd spend the first day scouting.

I'm from Mo. hunted there all my life and my advise to you is hunt the bottom of those draws or get on the point of intersecting hollers. never had any luck rattling but a grunt tube seems to fire em up. good luck!!

Ditto.

It seems in the area of Illinois i hunt. Every other year is good on decoys and hittin the horns. Year before it was great for us. Last year they didnt respond.
The rut seems to hit around Nov 10th where we hunt.

Good Luck and keep us posted on how you do.
